Greetings,
I wanted to take a quick second to tell the populace of the EH that at Clan this weekend I dropped my Flame Belt and my Master Rose. I didn't do it out of anger or anything like that, and it is not meant as a slight towards anyone.
When I received my belt and MAsterhood in 2001, I only had 6 roses. I currently have 8. IMO, Knights should all be held to the criteria set forth in the RoP and (previously) in our corpora. So I plan to keep working and try to earn my next two roses. Then it will be up to the Monarch and the CoK to determine if I have earned a Masterhood and should get a Flame Belt.
Thank you for your time.

But you got your belt before the standardization. The queen at the time thought you had earned it. By doing this, (in my opinion) you are setting a very dangerous precedent. Let's go down the list (on the wonderful ORK) of who all this would affect:
Avatar only has one (listed) rose for his flame belt Delphos only has nine dragons for his serpent belt McFadden only has nine roses for his flame belt Falamar has no listed roses for his flame belt Galen only has six roses for his flame belt Ice only has six warriors and one weapons master listed for his sword belt Logan has five lions (listed) towards his master lion, only an 8th order of the warrior towards his sword belt Neveron has no masterhoods and only a handful of listed "box tops" to go towards any belt Ominique has no garbers listed to go with her masterhood and serpent belt Reine had only four roses when she got her masterhood
Forest, you and most of the people listed above received their masterhoods and knightings before this current standardization. Someone thought y'all were worthy enough through your work or talent to receive the honor of knighthood. If you think you don't deserve it currently, then start from scratch and earn each rose again. Don't use the excuse "I don't have enough 'box tops'". You could of used your status as a flame knight to show what it takes to get those last few. Or so many other positive, constructive things...
But you are entitled to your opinion. And I wish you luck on your earning your "box tops"...

The standardization didn't change the listed requirements for a Flame belt.
While I can't say if the ORK is accurate for the people you listed (some older awards were never entered) I am glad you made that list. While I know some of those people had all the pre-requisite awards, let's assume what is listed is accurate. Would that be a sad reflection of our system that so many quality people were under-represented?
I think so. Let's work to make the system, and Knighthood, better.

not accurate forest. Defender of the Emerald Hills - Given by Bone Efide Phule - EH, December 2002 Weapon's Master - Given by Larin Moonstar - EH, March 2003 ommission of information to prove a point is no less than a lie. while I dont support your decision to drop a belt, its still yours to make.

Oh I know a lot of what is on there is innacurate. In fact, I think most people on that list have all their awards but just never got the ORK updated. I wasn't ommitting anything, Cyn posted a list and I said that it was not accurate, but that if it was it would be a sad reflection of things.

okay let me chime in on this one too. i for one would not accept and award if i feel i have not earned it and respect anyone that does, i know that Forrest has refuced belts in the past. If the man feel he does not deserve it then it cheapens the honor of it to him.

Second, O.R.K should not be considered the GOD of records. I have looked through its list of my accomplishments and see major holes. But the task of updating it is such a daunting task that I'm not sure I may ever complete the list there. I know I have a huge stack of awards stashed away in a chest buried deep in the dark woods of Tanglewood. Granted, I seem to remember making a list of them one day. Maybe if I feel so inclined I will make a hard target search for that list cuz I darn sure don't want to have to go back and re-make the complete list. Personally, IMNSHO... Forest can do what he wants in this particular case. I was one of the ones that pushed for him to recieve his Flame belt because while he may have been more qualified on paper for a Crown, the Flame belt suits him so much better. Besides, even in his own words he was a mediorcer (sp?) Monarch. But his undeniable service to the Kingdom back then, and even to this day is far better than others. Wait, wait wait... what the hell am I saying? Forest sucks. We should be giving him a dunce hat. Yeah... thats the ticket. .

IF you have the paper awards...your park PM can fill in the missing gaps. If not and you want them there (including titles) ...contact myself or any future EHPM. We can get things verified and enter them should you care about having them on the ORK.

I don't like that you have dropped your belt because whatever anyone's opinion of you the fact that you have given the equivelant of years of your life to this game and kingdom is undeniable. You earned this belt no matter what the box tops may reflect, and I don't agree with you once again. However if you choose to take this path and it helps you walk straighter when you wear the belt I support your choice.
