Believe it or not it is time to start thinking about Rules Revisions to V8.

As a reminder, the new Procedure for rules revisions means that proposals will have to be presented at Clan, voted on to allow playtest and feedback for a whole year, and voted on again at the next Clan to be made permanent.

Current List:
Proposal EH1: Restrict great weapon heavy padding special effects to slashing only.
Change to Weapon Types - Melee - Great - 5:
“If the weapon has at least 18” of Heavy Padding it gains the Shield Crushing and Armor Breaking Special Effects when used two-handed in a slashing manner.”


Proposal EH2: Amend Circle of Death to allow it to include dead players.
Change to Circle of Protection: Alter effects line: “...The caster and up to five willing players (alive or dead) in physical contact …”


Proposal EH3: Amend Fight After Death to explicitly state that movement during this ability does not count as moving after dying.
Change to Fight After Death: Add to the end of Notes:
“Movement during this ability does not count as moving after dying.”


Proposal EH4: Institute Circles of Nobility to advise Monarchs on Noble Titles.
Change to Awards and Symbols - Nobles. Add between first and second sentence:
“The Kingdom Circle of Nobles should be consulted prior to the grant of any Noble title according to the granting Kingdom's traditions.”


Proposal EH5: Change Brutal Strike so that it does not require a free hand to cast.
Change Brutal Strike in the ability block of Barbarian and Anti Paladin from "(m)" to "(ex)".


Awards standards Changes:

Proposal EH-AS1: Institute Circles of Masters to advise Monarchs on Masterhoods. (And Codify Circle of Knights in the rulebook)
Changes to Awards Standards:
Knighthood: Add at the end: “The Kingdom Circle of Knights should be consulted prior to the grant of any Knighthood according to the granting Kingdom's traditions.”
Masterhood: Add at the end: “The Kingdom Circle of Masters should be consulted prior to the grant of any Masterhood according to the granting Kingdom's traditions.”


Proposal EH-AS2: Change Defender title to only apply to 7th or 8th level Order Of the Warrior
Changes to Awards Standards:
Under C. “Note.” (at the bottom about Defender title) Add the following at the end: “ for the purposes of granting a 7th or 8th level."

I'd like shield crushing on great weapons to be restricted to slashing only and not on stabs.

Intent: Currently there are a number of abilities and spells triggered by the death of a player. Our intent is to add a unified set of rules for these trigger abilities, we believe it will benefit the game by providing an easy reference and consistent rules allowing for easier understanding of these abilities. This also opens up design space for quests, monsters, and magical items to easily be explained to players and added to the game.

(Currently the Circle of Knights is not mentioned in the Rulebook)

Prevote: Pass all changes for playtesting with no individual discussion:
FAIL 0-16

FAIL 15-1 "Distan(CK) says that he doesn't feel that these are important as they are just aspirational guidelines, and because they won't change anything."

Motion for additional discussion and a revote. Passes
The rest of the COM tries to convince the CK to change their vote. The CK briefly leaves the meeting to consult in private. Petra agrees to stall while the CK huddles, and does the Hula and the Macarena to entertain the rest of the attendees. When the CK comes back a second vote is held:
FAIL 15-1 Distan (CK) votes no.
