Dear god, me again. Had another question.

Would it be possible to add a Market Section. Place where folks can post things they got for sale/trade be it Amtgard related or not?

Curious.

I think a market section would be a good area to have for sale or trade/barter.
It quite possibly could be used to post for 'needing a ride' or 'having vehicle space' for ppl to get to events ...ppl could give gas money OR trade/barter for a ride/give a ride.
It could also be used to find a space to crash if someone was going a long distance to visit a park. Like "Hey I'll contribute groceries" ect to sleep on someone's couch. Or someone could post the local prices for the local motels for travelers too.

I have two concerns on this.

One, is it necessary? Is there a reason to move these discussions to their own forum? I feel that posting these types of threads in the general Amtgard forum would get more exposure for the poster. And there are not so many posts that they would get lost in the shuffle, or clutter up the general forum.

Two, index clutter. There are six general forums (counting A&S as one) 4 event forums, 14 park forums, and I think few people ever get down to the two admin forums.

These are giving me pause to create a new forum, just for classifieds.

Good points Elder. I guess we could just use the General Amtgard and the one for non related Amtgard topics. I know that as ppl post they get covered up by a new topic header, so having an area to post trade/barter/sale still is good. Other idea to not take up more space is to just use our own park posting sites too for this as well as the other 2 areas.

Is is acceptable to use the A&S for things we have to sell/trade?
It is nice to see the enthusiasm tho ...and ppl trying to get the Forum more active.
