The Kingdom of the Emerald Hills

Everyone the month of September is the Amtgard Food Fight. We are going against the Celestial Kingdom. I plan on taking them down.


Food Fight Ideas:
- Dollar/Can Food Tournaments
- Can Food Drive/Collections
- Sell sodas/snacks and donate profits
- Last year’s most successful event (dollars raised) was hosted by Traitor's Gate (CK) when they held a special battlegame. You paid $1 to tweak a rule.
- Auctions

Kingdom Incentive:
- Each year, the kingdom that raises the most is recognized with a banner commemorating the accomplishment. (2009-CK, 2010-DS)
- For every dollar ($1) raised, it equates to approx. $13 dollars in buying power through sponsorships and charitable discounts. Therefore the tally is based on that buying power. So, each canned food/item is awarded a 10 cent credit.
- We would prefer it to not be based solely off of money; however basing it off of the buying power seems most appropriate for helping the various organizations succeed/getting the help where it’s needed most. Through various sponsorships and donations the buying power of the organizations is significantly stronger that ours as individuals.
- In keeping with the mission and intent of the Amtgard Food Fight, groups are encouraged to hold activities at the local level/parks and not base their contributions solely on the larger events. While this is often easier (often may prove more profitable) the relationships built in the local community through a grass roots program of local support are often just as vital.


Now I plan on having a Park vs Park competition that covers the month of Sept. I will pair up parks based on size.

I also have worked with Sir Forrest on doing some things at Mid-reign to boost us to the top. With enough support kingdom wide we can take the whole darn thing.

For the foodfight during the month of September there will be a competition held between all the Baronies and all the Shires.

There will be a banner awarded to the Barony that raises the most money and/or canned food. Minimum requirements to qualify are 100 canned goods or 50.00 dollars raised.

Last year the EH raised the 40.00.CK raised only 571.00 and the group that won the whole thing only raised 1043.00. I believe we can win the whole damn thing. Here is the site to see where everyone finished last year. http://www.amtgardfoodfight.com/
