SCHEDULE:
KP Quals and tourney will be May the 13th. This is park level only (open to all parks). WE ARE LOOKING FOR JUDGES! People who are fair and gentle, preferred. Local park qualls, remember? If you're wanting stiff competition (Tehehehe), the Kingdom Quals will be May the 19th at MWG and the 20 at KP. Please remember to find someone Reeves/Copora testing during these dates and get yourself tested! I'd hate to see anyone get left behind because of not meeting requirements! There will be a feast at both KP events that will be a pot luck, so bring food and your appetites!!! But, hurry and get everything you need together, for soon after, declarations will close for KP offices on May the 25th. Then Kingdom and KP elections will run on May the 26th and the 27th. Kingdom Coronation will then take place June the 9th. A week later, KP Coronation will ensue on June the 17th, where there will also be a Pot Luck Feast and hopefully entertainment!

I'm excited to see where this next reign goes as I am sure are the rest of you! Let's make the best of KP we can and see our numbers grow, yet again!

CRITERIA FOR QUALS: Just like Docsi's category schedule, we will be qualling with the following criteria:
Cooking (Main Dish) Definition/Description:
Any food cooked by the entrant specifically for the main course of a meal.

Cooking (General) Definition/Description:
Any food item prepared by the entrant, other than the main course.

Cooking (Desserts/Sweets)

Beverages Definition/Description:
Any beverage made or concocted by the entrant.

Jewelry:
Definition/Description:
Bracelets, necklaces, rings, and similar. Any and all jewelry is judged in this category. Chainmail
style, beading work, and lost wax cast items are examples of types and techniques

Armor Construction:
Definition/Description:
Any item of Armor designed to be worn on the Amtgard Battlefield.

Weapon Construction:
Definition/Description:
Any Amtgard legal weapon(s) intended for on field use. Non-Amtgard weapons should be entered into
one of the art or construction categories.

Active Construction:
Definition/Description:
Items with moving parts created for use in the club whether on or off the field. This can include catapults, folding chairs, Water clocks, hinged items and many other things. Items in this category can be differentiated from 2d and 3d art by the fact that they be judged mostly on their usefulness and construction rather than on their artistic merits.

Passive Construction:
Definition/Description:
Items created for use in the club whether on or off the field. This can include boxes, candles, spell-books, wands, staffs, and many other things. Items in this category can be differentiated from 2d and 3d art by the fact that they judged mostly on their usefulness and construction rather than on their artistic merits.

Bardic Singing: Definition/Description: Exactly what it sounds like.

Bardic oratory: Definition/Description: Exactly what it sounds like.

Bardic Other: Definition/Description: Instrumental, dance, etc.

Written Factual: Definition/Description:
Any non-fictional written piece, including how-to documents, informational pamphlets, descriptions of actual events, editorials and historical research.

Written Fictional: Definition/Description:
This is fictional writing, and may include character histories, short stories, or fictionalized accounts of Amtgard events.

General Garb: Definition/Description:
Any piece of clothing designed primarily to be worn during Amtgard events other than court/feast

Court/Feast Garb: Definition/Description:
Any piece of clothing designed primarily to be worn at Court or in other decorative, non-fighting situations.

Garb accessory: Definition/Description:
Any small clothing accessory whether designed to be worn at court or on the battlefield. Belts, pouches, favors, and sashes are all examples

Monster Garb: Any piece of clothing used to denote a particular monster

Textile:
Definition/Description:
Cross-stitch, crochet, tatting, lace, spinning, weaving, or other fine work created with thread and needle.

2D Art:
Definition/Description:
Two-dimensional art, usually drawings, paintings, photography, or any other flat artwork.

3D Art:
Definition/Description:
Three-dimensional art, figurines, sculpture, metalwork, masks, pottery, or any other piece of artwork that is multi dimensional.

Heraldry:
Definition/Description:
Amtgard heraldry, displayed on whatever medium. Examples include scrolls, favors, banners or garb and entries must be described in heraldic terms as much as possible. For Heraldry the score is based two main elements. First, how appealing the design is to the eye and how well presented it is and second on how well the items fulfills the purpose of Heraldry. An item which is well made and beautiful that only happens to have a design on it would score less than an equally high quality item where the symbols displayed had meaning and relevance. Entrants in this category should do their homework before presenting the items.

Rose:
Definition/Description: Any entry whose principle function is to benefit the club. Examples include Awards blanks, newsletters, flyers, and websites.

P.S. Remember that not only does the Regent and Baron/ess have to quall and enter the tourney, but so does the GMR and the Champion! Don't forget to get your things together as soon as you can! 5 items in 5 categories for Park Level, 10 for Kingdom, same for the tournament!

CATEGORIES FOR TOURNEY:
Single Dagger
Short Sword
Long Sword
Florentine
Sword and Board
Archery
Throwing Weapons

FINAL WORD:
Most important of all, good luck and have fun! This is just a game. It's a wonderful, life changing, catastrophic mess of a game that can at times seem more like a full time job. But, it is just a game. So, just HAVE FUN! Don't stress! And, smile!
