WHAT I'M SAYING NOW: This thread has now been requisitioned for the purposes of Q&A concerning the writing contest only. If you have any written entries you wish to submit, please go to viewtopic.php?f=55&t=7471 and strut your stuff! If you have privately sent me a story and wish me to post it for you, just let me know and I'll be more than happy to share. And, best of luck!

WHAT I ORIGINALLY SAID: Tell me your favorite AMTGARD stories. This was inspired by someone who encouraged me to find peoples favorite Regent stories so I could emulate times of old and resurrect the great deeds of those before me. And, though I would love to hear these wonderful and helpful stories from you all, I thought.... Why limit ourselves? Contest is a loosely based term for this. There will be rewards, but it is mainly me wanting you to bestow upon us your experiences and fun times! Please share them with me and everyone else!

I'd truly and genuinely love to hear what you have to say!

Any amtgard story, or do you have any specifics or guidelines about the theme / topic you are looking for. (i.e. I can tell you some great drinking stories, but I don't know that they will benefit anyone other than to laugh at how dumb we were.) :)

No specifics! I just want you to revisit great and even foolish times you've had at AMTGARD and share them. I'd like for them to be posted here, if they're not too personal, so everyone can read and enjoy! For me, I see this as a way sitting around a massive fire with every player I've ever met and instead of dancing and singing, we're swapping stories of people we've known that impacted us, or experiences that we learned from by either falling on our faces or being inspired by someone else, stories of wardrobe mishaps or drunken shenanigans. Anything to keep the mood light and everyone laughing and learn a little about each other and the SPIRIT of AMTGARD. Not so much the rules and what not to do, but how to FEEL the game, if that makes any sense at all.

I am not the best writer, but next time I am at KP (or when you visit ES) I'll tell you some stories. :)

Maybe I can write them down and share them with everyone else, too?

So is there a word limit to these stories?

And is there a deadline?

Zel.... You really need to rethink this. I do believe you are going to get a lot of stories that start out "I was in the TiT with a drunken Corsair, not sure which one, but he was so drunk!!!

These stories. Would they have to be told in a mundane or RP setting? Cuz I know for a fact that Delphos has a RP themed story that deals with the loss and return of the Kingdom crown when held by Elder at a Clan a few years back.

That's awesome. I took a break from my computer for a few days, but I'll start checking and answering emails tomorrow morning. And, if stories from the TiT are what you want to share, share them. If stories about Kingdom crowns is what inspires you to write, then follow that. Obviously, if I get twelve identical stories and one truly unique one, the one that is unique, assuming it is well written will have two strikes in it's favor. The fact that it's well written plus the fact that it stands out. But, I think putting up random restrictions might stifle a truly amazing story that I'm sure everyone would love to hear, even if it does start out with "I was in the TiT with a drunken Corsair, not sure which one, but he was so drunk!!!"

Nev should send you his "essay" on paladins.

LOL!! As good as that story is...

Thats not really a story as per the " no shit, there I was at Clan V..." type of story that she seems to be looking for. Besides, that particular story has already won a prize.
