I am starting a playtest an overlooked aspect of V8: Magic items. Magic items in V8 can be part of a reign long campaign, and this is what I would like to explore for the next 6 months. I and a few others have designed a system to track a digital currency that can be spent at a virtual store to purchase Talismans and Trinkets (Artifacts seem to be a drop in replacement for Relics, which will most likely still be given out via questing). I am going to start the beta test at Bright Forge, although I am currently in talks to expand it to Eagleshire as well.
The basic rules are:
1) This is opt in, you must specifically ask to be added to the system.
2) Each user may have a maximum of Three Trinkets, Two Talismans, and either One Artifact or a Third Talisman.
3) One Talon is awarded for your first attendance each week, additional Talons may be awarded as part of a quest objective or Battlegame.
We have a basic online google sheet for this playtest, that anyone can view:

The V8 mindset is not about "what is the minimum I can get away with doing" but rather "how can we all use these rules fairly so the game runs smoothly and we all have a good time."
