MHOG posted the following on the mailing list. Who all would be interested in seeing SKBC come back to Tanglewood next and/or would be will to help out?

As you know it has been the policy of SKBC to accept bids from
anywhere in the nation and to choose where to take our event based on
how good the bid is, how recently we have been to the area and how
many instructors we can get to travel that far. We have traveled
relatively far from the core of Amtgard in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
After talking to the instructors and working with them on the issue,
the FWACK committee has decided that for SKBC 2008 it will be a
little different. We will only be taking bids from Texas. I
understand how this is unfair relative to our previous policy but we
feel that getting the best instructors to travel far away again will
be impossible. I have gotten commitments from many of the
instructors to travel again in 2009 but the feeling was that many
needed a year off. Given that holding SKBC 2008 in Texas was
preferred by the committee to skipping a year.
We will accept bids anywhere in the state of Texas but proximity to
the big three kingdoms of EH, CK and WL will be a significant
advantage. We apologize to anyone who was preparing a serious bid
for 2008 and encourage you to consider 2009.
2008 Texas bids are still due before Rakis. See the SKBC website for
