The Kingdom of the Emerald Hills

A small band of Goblins were spotted inside the borders of the Barony today, as soon as they were discovered they tried to fight their way out. The Barony defenders managed to kill the interlopers before they escaped. Worryingly, the Goblin band did not seem interested in plunder, as they did not attempt to take any during their raid. The Champion has volunteered to organize a scouting party to discover the source of the Goblin incursion, and investigate if it is more than just a small raid.

Disaster! The scouting party was ambushed as soon as they entered the woods on the path leading away from Midnight Sun. They managed to fight their way through the ambush and deeper in to the woods, but they ran into a patrol of Orks and Goblins at a clearing at a crossroads. The battle raged back and forth for hours with the scouting party nearly defeating all the Orks and Goblins only to face fresh reinforcements. Finally the sheer numbers started to take a toll as one by one the scouting party fell. The Champion ordered a fighting retreat to try to reach the safety of Midnight Sun, but soon only he was left. He managed to make it to the outskirts of the Barony before he fell, thankfully within sight of the watchmen. The Orks and Goblins retreated into the woods after he fell, and the Champion's body was retrieved and Resurrected. He gave his report to the officers of the Barony, surely this was no small raiding party, but a Warband. Their aim could only be to invade Midnight Sun. The wizards of Midnight Sun sent their magical Messengers to ask for reinforcements, as the woods were too dangerous for an envoy to traverse. We can only hope and pray that the other Kingdom lands send enough forces to make it through to Midnight Sun, and that those that make it to the Barony are are able to bolster the Midnight Sun Militia enough to repel the invasion.

A good sized force of reinforcements from other parks and Midnight Sun residents who had been visiting other lands caravaned together to make it through the forest and reach Midnight Sun. They were ambushed twice and ran into Orc and Goblin patrols twice, they had a hard fight or two but all members managed to reach the relative safety of the Barony. The besieged officers breathed a sigh of relief as the reinforcements marched into MS. There were preparations still to be made, but at least the defenders stood a chance now.
