Excellent turn out with 40 people in attendance.

We did two full-class battlegames (Capture The Flag followed by Night/Day) and even saw the participation of Silvershade (gasp!).

Good attitudes prevailed across the board and everybody had a great time. We also saw some of the most enjoyable, fierciest fighting last Sunday as I've seen in a long time.

Eagleshire has really made a complete 180 degree turn around from where it was a year ago and I completely attribute that to the attitude and dedication of the regular park players. If everybody is dedicated to having fun, the park will flourish.

In 2005, two years ago, we were averaging under 10 people per weekend.
In 2006, one year ago, we were averaging under 20 people.
The last month's average...just a hair under 30.

I want to see how we do over next winter; If we can grow the numbers across the next six months and maintain them until next Spring I'll push for Duchy status then.

Right now I'm focusing on creating an environment where everybody is having a good time and enjoys playing Amtgard.

I find a focused, dedicated leadership is really key to getting a park where it needs to be. Providing battlegames that both the newer players and the veterans can enjoy is really easy with some forethought and planning.

Bringing out refreshments is really very helpful. It lets people know the leadership cares and wants them there, plus keeps people able to play longer and enjoy it more. It has a disproportionatly large impact upon the attitude and mentality of the park.

Our challenge now will be branching out and embracing more new players. I think we have a new player for every 5 people in attendance, and I would really like to get that to a 1 per 4 ratio. If we get much over that we will run into assimilation, logistics, and training issues.
