Gladiator Tournament
When: During Saturday Night Feast
The full details of this particular War Event will be given at WBW's but I wanted to give you a couple of heads up about it and allow people to start signing in for it.
Teams (companies, households, parks or individuals):
Are encouraged to make simplistic versions of tabbards for their Gladiators or simple versions of their teams colors. Remember Gladiators were slaves, fighting for their household in the arena they wouldn't be wearing anything to showy. (Example: Jack is in Sable Pride so he wears a tabbard of all black and a small silver trim, no emblem or company heraldry.)
Armor:
Piece mail is the keyword for this. Were not allowing any plate mail, but any form of chain or leather is completely acceptable. Each fighter is allowed 3pts of armor in any area. (Example: Bob decided to just protect his sword arm, so he places all his armor on the shoulder and arm, the full 3 pts. John decided to use 2pts on his chest and 1pt on his sword arm.)
Weapons:
Flatblades, giant swords or axes, flail or ball and chain... All of these and more are perfect for this type of battle. The small quick 'sticks' some of us normally use won't be allowed, this IS NOT the type of fighting this will be.
Entertainment Factor:
This war event is a time for dramatization and acting not just fighting. We want to make this particular event entertaining for everyone with all the yelling, showmanship and death of a real gladiator arena.
When you die, really die. Scream in agony, fall over and play dead, just play it up. Same thing goes for fighting in the event. With the addition of armor we are wanting to make the fights longer, not the typical quick, 1 or 2 shots and done of regular tournaments.
Monsters:
There will be a few monsters in this tournament that the gladiators will be fighting. If you have any really good monster garb and want to sign up strictly as a monster please indicate that below. You must have your own full outfit for the monster.
