As I cant post in anouncements, Ill post my info here.
This morning I heard on the radio that Veterans Park will be hosting a frisbee golf chmpionship. Which means that parking will be limited, and the area slotted for the raid fighting will be taken over by drunken, smoked out crazies, (ie, not our drunken , smoked out crazies)
We will meet in the normal area near the playground, but the Raid will be a Deep Woods Battle. Something that hasnt happened for a long time. Oh wait, last weekend we did deep woods. Well , anyways, Bring your armour, gear, and bring on the vikings. The Bitch of the Glen hasnt fed well in a few years and vikings go good with winters chill. Remember to dress in best as the Regent said something about a film crew?
The beacon fires are lit. The call has been cast. Who will heed the Glens need for help? Who will thwart the vikings ? Who will be the hero of the day? ( my money is on Bunny DoomSlayer) Rise Up and Repell the Vikings.

After all your planning I'm sorry to hear the mundanes will be forcing a change of scenery.

As for the "film crew?" that's what your Sheriff transmitted to the King just days ago. The communique implied it is a project for a college film class... those happen from time to time.

The "film crew" will be doing a documentary on Amtgard or the Shire of Mourningwood Glen. They have yet, to make up their mind... and will be there filming US. Yes, it is a college project.

Raid was a blast with over 60 people showing up. Thanks to KP and the Saracen's for bolstering our numbers. Also Salek, our lone Klingon survivor from the last major raid on MWG.

The Vikings were stopped cold, and in the midst of the fighting, their King was captured and will be ransomed back to their Queen next weekend.

THere was enough people DEFENDING the glen that I split the forces into thirds. Each group got to attack the vikings, then fall back to defend. The lone bar bar was shattered , so I rezzed him with the dark light of Kina, and sent him to his king with a message, we come for you!!!!!
It was fun, no bitching, happy shinny faces all around. Once again proving that while SOME may not like the glen, whether shire or barony, The MourningWood makes the people happy.......

AER: Morning Wood, 2008

Members of the KAG vessel IKV Melota were invited once again to
Morningwood Glen, the local park of Amtgard.

To be true to the definition of an AER as originated by the IKV Melota,
we were not in Uniform. However, this was a combat event and uniforms
were not appropriate. Armor and weapons were the Rule of the day.

Warriors associated with the IKV Melota attended in non-uniformed, armed
and armored combatant positions during the invasion by the Kingdom of
the Park of Morningwood.

I was relegated to observer status due to my recent surgery and observed
in pain. The Binars (Amoreth and Avalona), however, had some serious
kick ass potential and did so. I must also mention the action of my
puq'Be's (sp?) parmachi as he also as an IKV Melota representative took
to the combat field.

As I sat there, I observed the Warriors of Morningwood Glen taking on
the invading King's Warriors. It was a pretty much forgone conclusion
given the fact that attacking forces should have a 3:1 superiority and
in this case had a 1:4 inferiority. Von Clausewitz would give them
credit for trying.

Avalona was assigned as an unarmored squirette to Osmodius (sp?) and was
praised for her ability to recover spent arrows as no other has
performed before.

Amoreth ranged and fought viciously against the invading King's minions.

This took place at "the Bowl". Heavy brush. Uneven terrain.
Trenches. So, as a salute to the late George Carlin...

Jason,the Argonut, fighting over the mounds, resisted with Morningwood
against the thrusts of the invading King's attempts to penetrate the
bush that surrounded the valley of the defending Queen.

It really was a fun war even if I don't understand Amtgard rules.
