Starting out a new reign we are gonna try something different. Way back when, when Sir Clu was Champ (i think, or was it Regent...oh well doesnt matter for story purposes) he would post the rules of the battlegame before hand. Made it really fun, so that one could look over the rules, adjust strategy and/or spell sheets, and even decide what class to play for the day. I plan on having this done no later than Thurs of each week, so that people have time to think about it. (Wed is my goal date, but we all know things happen)

These posted battlegames are scheduled for 2pm. So that everyone knows, and there is no confusion....scheduled park start time is at 12noon. This gives plenty of time for socializing and ditching...as well as late arrivals. I hope to run more than just this one battlegame a day, but....well we'll see what happens.

Thanks to Kodi for the battlegame idea....wanted to run it for Xmas, but was still in rough draft stage at that point, and well we had a park full of ditch monkeys last weekend.

2 teams of normal players. 3 players as monster (we will be using pegasus to simulate reindeer) Normal players must capture the pegasus and return them to nirvana. If the player holding the reindeer dies, the deer is free and must be recaptured. The player holding the deer may not do anything else. (Think of how a hunter carries the deer back to camp.) Remember the deer is unconsious (casting or fighting releases the deer) Reindeer may not be killed (ie, no FOD a deer and rez it at nirvanna like game items) Remeber the object of the game is to capture.

GrandFather Time vs. Baby New Year
yep, you guessed it; and old vs new game. Cutoff will be 5yrs in
game. So if you have been around for 5yrs or longer, you're fighting
for Old Man Time. Less than that, well you're a newborn to us old
fogeys....LOL. As for battlegame rules....who needs em???!!!! Kill
everybody on the other team. Face it the old folks cant remember rules
anyway....LOL

this weekend we will be having our Champion's tourney. It will be an open tourney, however only a MWG resident will be named champion.

Catagories will be:
single short sword
florinetine
short sword and board

hopefully we'll have time for a battlegame afterwards.

the champion's tourney was canceled this weekend due to cold and lack of interested parties. Instead we ran several rounds of kill your killer and ring the bell.

Next weekend is the visit to the new park of Darkmire. I encourage everyone able to go. IF you are unable to attend this outing and choose to go to MWG....if someone will write down who attends and emails it to Crimson, that would be appreciated.

Hoping to hold our champs tourney in two weeks, or someone will volunteer and make the tourney obsolete.

HEART OF GOLD

the objective of this game is to break into the temple and steal the "heart of gold" (snickers...good luck)

a standard temple battle, no real gimmiks....two roughly balanced teams and all that.

Well just remember that only people allowed to use hinged weapons can use their towels in the fighting. :)

sorry for the non post of the last 2 weeks...mundane and all that you
know. SO with the retreival of the heart of gold, we have activated
the Random Improbabiltiy Drive to choose battlegames for us.
(Basically I roll a dice and pick the corresponding battlegame from a
list. Our Random battlegame of the week is:

Graveyard
10 or more
By Sir Ice of RedHawk
object: to destroy the tombstones
Teams: one team of skeletons, one normal team
Materials: monster garb and write up for "skeleton" type monsters.
Tombstones for each skeleton
Scenario: Normal team must cleanse the graveyard of undead. death
count for undead is however long it takes them to touch a tombstone.
Undead have unlimited lives. Once a tombstone is broken, undead may
no longer come alive at that location. Tombstones are broken by 20
points of damage. Fire based spells do 5pts of damage. Sphere does
10pts. Game is won by normal team when all tombstones are broken.
Game is won by undead if all players are shattered

3/28:

Chasm battles
Lay out two "planks" with rope appropriate to the number of people playing (I’d keep it under 10 a team). A very approximate guess would be 4’ x 10’. They should be divided by about 5’ (enough that you can jump across, but not without effort). The teams divide up onto the planks so that they are at opposite ends and half of each team is on each plank. The two teams then fight until one teams is killed. The idea is that there are two planks over a chasm. Jumping between planks is allowed but if you miss the planks, you die; this includes stepping off into nothing. Note: you can try these with classes, but we have had little success, too much going on, not enough room.
