Recently got ahold of and slightly edited some footage from one of the most fun regular days in the Emerald Hills. This was the HUGE kingdom raid under Mad King McFadden in August of 2004.
I wanted to post this here because we had fun this last weekend, and these videos showed another time we had a blast together. We had a good lot of people come out of the woodwork last weekend, and if you're like me you'll see these videos and say "Hey, I need to invite that guy back out, it's been a while since I've seen that person." Pass these links on to them, even once a year it would be great to see them. (I mean hell, we had Lung come out at midreign...)
Variety of many people + well planned events = a ton of fun.
That is what I've come to realize after last weekend and watching these videos again. Just one day in the year we just need to have some big raid/invasion where we say to people "Ok, if you are going to come out one day this year, it needs to be... XYZ" Just one day a year at the local parks to remind some of our busy friends that we're still here, and we're always glad to hang with them. (like Kal'xen who has typically made annual appearances.. always awesome!)
Anyway, it was great to see all the people we had this last weekend and interact with them in the relic quest (the Hitchhiker's Guide theme was an awesome touch for me complete with Forest knocking 'em dead well versed Vogon poetry.) And good role playing on the parts of "Ford Perfect" (you know who you are) and Dante who just fleshed things out with the material of the "Vote for Zaphod" that was just too funny.
Yeh it was good to see all the people this last weekend, and I hope at some point we can see more of the people in these videos at some large battlegame in the future.
