Is it a possibility for someone to use what they've posted on an on-going story-line post on the boards for quals or even something they've written as a short story?

If so, are you judging spelling, grammar and usage or just if the story appeals to you?

If you wrote it, and it hasn't previously been entered at the Kingdom level, you can enter it.

Yes, grammar and spelling are usually part of your score. I also highly reccommend that you keep it to 2 - 2 1/2 pages unless it is just amazingly captivating. (Not a judge, just relaying what I have heard from previous judges).

Best of luck to you.

Yes, but keep in mind that cooperative posting and cooperative stories usually have a structure that doesn't read well. Much like a conversation, being present as the story is crafted provides important context. If you wrote a particularly long chunk, and can provide enough on what transpired before, you could use it.

My personal recommendation would be to rewrite it, using the post as inspiration.

Spelling and grammar always count, although poor grammar may not always be penalized. It's usually safer to assume it will be, however.
