Welcome ! First off what park did you join?
Axes are made using the flat blade technique. This is using 3 (plus) layers of blue camp foam with your core in the middle. Everything needs to be taped well.
I asked what park you are with simply because someone there should be able to 'walk' you through the process. It's not complicated, but any 'edge' should not pass through a 2.25 inch opening which differs from the 2.5 legal diameter for noodle blades. It also needs a cover like reg blades and a 2.5 inch pommel.
If you can't find someone to teach you, find Garm here under members and PM (private message) him. He makes a very nice flat blade and has done flat blade demos.
