What is Amtgard's stance on plastidip? Can is be used as a shield front? What about weapons? Where would one "draw the line," so to speak?

Plastidip can be used as the "opaque cover" that a shield requires (go nuts use as you see fit)
Plastidip can be used on weapons but the striking edge must be cloth covered. (pommels, handles, cross gaurds, flat sword flats are all pd acceptable)

so in response to your direct questions:
amtgard does allow for plastidip as long as you follow the rules
yes you can use it as a shield front
it can be used on weapons but not as much freedom as with shields
i'd draw the lines in line with the rules :P

sorry if necroing an old forum. just saw the unanswered question here :)
